The incident of robbery has come to light in the Duronto Express going from Delhi to Kolkata. According to media reports, armed robbers robbed a lot near Shalimpur station before Bakhtiyarpur in Patna on Sunday morning. The robbers forcibly snatched purses, mobiles and jewelry from several passengers at gunpoint.
The incident happened around 3 am
The incident took place in train number 12274 Duronto Express at around 3 am. According to the report, a passenger told that the Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel had got down from the train at Patna station. When the train was crossing Patna in Bihar, suddenly someone pulled the chain of the train after about 10 km. He further told that the train stopped, when I looked outside, suddenly there was a commotion and I saw people running here and there.
More than 20 armed men boarded
Then it was seen that more than 20 armed people boarded some bogies. They snatched the belongings of many passengers, they also snatched the belongings of a businessman from Kolkata. According to the passenger, the GRP personnel had asked the passengers to hide their mobile phones and chargers before getting down from the train. According to reports, the miscreants looted at least six to seven bogies of the train. After committing the crime, all the miscreants got down from the train and fled within five minutes.
Robbers robbed valuables from many passengers
The robbers snatched valuables like ear rings, rings, mobiles from several passengers, many of whom lodged complaints after the train reached Kolkata’s Howrah station. After taking cognizance of the above matter, the police has said that strict action will be taken against the accused.
