New cases of cyber crime are being seen every day in Bihar. Now cybercriminals have started targeting common people as well as special people. The news is from the capital Patna where Cyber Fraud tried to blow 90 thousand rupees from the bank account of Bihar Chief Secretary Amir Subhani. However, the criminal could not succeed in his intention.
In the context of the incident, it is being told that cyber criminals tried to withdraw money from the Chief Secretary’s account on Sunday, but Aamir Subhani became alert as soon as he came to know about this. He immediately took action and reported it to the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU). After getting the information, 90 thousand rupees were blocked and further action was taken.
The accused was arrested shortly
As soon as the information about the matter was received, the EOU team took immediate action and arrested the fraudster within two hours. The EOU is doing further investigation and inquiry by registering an FIR in the matter. What is the criminal history of the arrested fraudster, for how many days he is doing this kind of work, for all such questions, the team of EOU is interrogating the arrested fraudster. However, the EOU has not yet issued an official statement regarding this.
Cyber crime figures in the state
In the year 2016, 309 cases of cyber crime have been registered in Bihar, 433 in the year 2017, 374 in the year 2018, 1,050 in the year 2019 and 1,512 in the year 2020. Online transactions in Bihar have increased 15 to 20 times in the last 10 years. Cybercrime cases have increased 100 times in 10 years at a faster rate. In the 40 police districts of the state, the maximum number of cyber crime takes place in the capital Patna.
At the same time, talking about cybercrime at the national level, a total of 52,974 cases were registered in the year 2021. In 2020 this number was 50,035. According to NCRB’s 2021 report, crime increased by five per cent in 2021. Compared to 2019, cybercrime has increased by more than 15 percent.
