Chhattisgarh News: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday warned of legal action over former chief minister Raman Singh’s statement in which he called Baghel an “ATM” of Congress party and interim president Sonia Gandhi. Baghel has asked Singh to publicly apologize for the statement. Chief Minister Baghel, during a conversation with reporters today, objected to Singh’s statement and said, “The statement made by Raman Singh ji is highly objectionable. He says that I am Sonia Gandhi’s ATM. Prove it, otherwise apologize publicly. Otherwise, appropriate legal action will be taken and I will also file a defamation claim against him.
Along with this, Baghel also tweeted in Hindi, indirectly attacking Singh, “The International Father of Corruption” feels that he will defame Chhattisgarh for coming out of the ‘wild card entry’ in the guide board, not this. Will work. Who has whose ATM, proof of this will have to be given. It is recorded in the account of Panama, whose name he again started defaming Chhattisgarh.” Baghel has written, “By the way, there is a mention in Naan’s diary from Nagpur to Lucknow by which swipe machine he was transferred, the people of the state know Baghel was referring to the alleged scam that surfaced in the Civil Supplies Corporation in 2015 during the previous BJP rule.
On Tuesday, Singh had targeted the ruling party Congress over the Enforcement Directorate raids in the state and said, “Chhattisgarh is ashamed in front of the country and the world. The flag of corruption is being raised in Chhattisgarh. We never imagined that the houses of 40 officers would be raided by the ED.
Illegal recovery is happening in the state. Illegal recovery of coal is taking place. Now the black money pole has started opening here. The truth will come out and all will come out.” He had said, “This government is going to go. There is a game of several thousand crores going on here, everyone here knows. The government is not able to do development work but has enough money to collect and send it to the Assam and Uttar Pradesh elections (assembly).”
