Foundation President Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi paid tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh on the occasion. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to honor the bravery and sacrifice made by Bhagat Singh for the people of the subcontinent, to give the highest civilian award to the freedom fighter. He urged them to restore social and economic ties between the two countries and to formulate an easy visa policy, so as to encourage peace between the two neighbours.

Britain’s King Charles III apologizes
The foundation demanded that King Charles III of Britain should apologize to Pakistan, India and the families of these three revolutionaries and give them a huge compensation. Significantly, Bhagat Singh was born on 28 September 1907 in Lyallpur (now Pakistan) of undivided Punjab. He had joined the freedom struggle from a very young age and was hanged by the British government, fearful of his popularity. Last Sunday, Prime Minister Modi had announced in his “Mann Ki Baat” program that the Chandigarh airport would be named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
