Bettiah Jail Complex will resonate with the song of Chhath: 57 prisoners including Kinnar Anjali who are in jail will do Chhath fast

Preparations for Chhath fast have started in Bettiah Mandalkara too. The work of cleaning the Chhath Ghat inside the Mandal Jail has also been completed. The work of decorating the ghat for Chhath festival has also started. Jail inmates are fully cooperating in this. Jail Superintendent Amarjeet Singh said that this year 28 male and 29 female prisoners are observing Chhath fast. In which a eunuch Anjali Kumari is also involved. Who has been in jail since last 29 May.

On behalf of the jail administration, new clothes will be made available to the Chhath Vratis like coconut, lemon, Gagal, Aarata, Argha. Apart from the puja material, arrangements are also being made for prasad, kharna for the devotees. The superintendent told that the cleaning of the ghat has been completed. Other prisoners are also cooperating in this. On the day of Nahaye Khaye i.e. from today itself, the song of Chhathi Maiya will be played in the jail through loudspeakers. This cycle will go on for four days. He told that the atmosphere of the jail premises has already become devotional. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the prisoners regarding the festival.
