Retired Supreme Court chief justice Lucas Bersamin will take his oath as President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s new executive secretary today, September 27.
Bersamin, 72, a native of Bangued, Abra, will join his first Cabinet meeting in Malacañang on Tuesday, Palace sources said.
His appointment came days after former executive secretary Victor Rodriguez announced his resignation from his post.
Former president Rodrigo Duterte appointed Bersamin as chief justice. He served from 2018 to 2019.
Bersamin is currently the chairman of the Government Service Insurance System.
