DHAKA — Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed received Sheikh Abdullah Al-Buaijan, imam and preacher of the Prophet’s Mosque, in the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka on Sunday.
Sheikh Al-Buaijan is currently on a visit to Bangladesh as part of the program of visits of the imams of the Two Holy Mosques, which is being implemented by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance.
At the outset of the meeting, Sheikh Hasina welcomed the imam and praised the efforts being made by Saudi Arabia in serving Islam and Muslims in the world, especially the Muslims of Bangladesh.
On his part, Sheikh Al-Buaijan expressed his thanks and appreciation to the prime minister for the warm reception and generous hospitality received by him and the accompanying delegation. He highlighted the depth and strength of relations between the two countries in various fields. The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Issa Al-Duhailan, and Bangladeshi Minister of State for Religious Affairs Mohammed Faridul Haq Khan.
