    Diwali, a festival symbolizing the victory of light over darkness, was celebrated with pomp in Aurangabad on Monday. The house and street were illuminated by the beautiful row of lamps and twinkling, colorful lights. There was an atmosphere of festivity and jubilation till late in the night. The process of giving and receiving greetings and good wishes continued from morning till late at night.

    The enthusiasm of the people towards the festival was at its peak. After cleaning the whole day, as soon as the evening falls, in the auspicious time, the goddess of prosperity, Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha, the god of auspiciousness, was worshiped in the houses and establishments. After this, the process of decorating the lamps started which continued till late evening. The sound of firecrackers was heard from the afternoon itself, but it intensified after the worship. Along with the houses, commercial establishments were also decorated with colorful strings of electricity. In commercial places, the program of worship continued from morning till late night.

    Sweets sold well and garlands of flowers sold well

    On Monday, the maximum crowd was seen at the shops of various types of laddus, sugar sweets and firecrackers. People showed special inclination towards sweets, dry fruits gram flour and Motichoor laddus. Flowers have a special significance in the worship work. In such a situation, the flower market remained hot on the day of Diwali. Lotus flowers sold for between Rs 25 and Rs 50.

    Marigold flower garlands sold for Rs 50 to 70. Thumbs of banana were found for Rs.300 pairs. There was also a rush at shops of artificial flowers and decorations to decorate the houses. The decoration of the house with flowers and rangoli was beautiful on Diwali. People used different types of experiments in decorating Rangoli. Some decorated their door frame with colorful flowers, while some made the figure of Goddess Lakshmi and Ganesha through Rangoli.

    In view of Diwali, delicious dishes started being prepared in the houses from morning itself. Due to being a festival, people started the day by eating sweets in the morning.
