Job in Abroad: The Ministry of External Affairs has advised Indian youth looking for jobs abroad. The ministry has asked companies to stay away from companies making lucrative job offers abroad. Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi told reporters in the weekly press briefing that as far as Indian nationals stranded in Myanmar are concerned, we are looking into the matter in which fake offers have been made. He said that around 50 people have been rescued so far and some people are still trapped. He said that some of the evacuated people have returned while some people are in the custody of the police there for illegal entry.

Asked about reports of 300 people being trapped in Myanmar in the news, Bagchi said that some people are trapped there but the number is definitely not 300. Efforts are on to rescue these people. A Foreign Ministry spokesman said that 80 people have now been evacuated from Laos and Cambodia. He said that we have also issued advisory last month in which companies were asked to be careful with such tempting offers. Bagchi reiterates that be very careful of companies offering lucrative job offers abroad as it is difficult to get out if you get stuck there. It is worth noting that earlier Bagchi had said that the ministry was aware of the subject of Indians being held hostage in the Myawadi region of southeast Myanmar. Stalin, in a letter to Prime Minister Modi, had said that the state government has received information about about 300 Indians, including 50 Tamils, stranded in Myanmar, who are facing a lot of difficulties.
