Melbourne: Australia head coach Andrew McDonald believes David Warner will play a key role in the upcoming World Test Championship final against India and the Ashes series against England. “We expect him to play a key role in the Ashes and the WTC final,” he told Australian radio station Sen. Warner has been selected in the Australian squad for the WTC final against India and the first two Ashes Tests. The selectors have also picked up Marcus Harris and Matt Renshaw as substitutes.
McDonald said, “He is an important part of the team. Otherwise he would not have been in the team. He is also in the squad for the first two Ashes Tests which means he is part of our strategy.”
