Akshay said, ‘What is happening according to me is that things have changed. The audience wants something different. We should sit and think that and give the audience what they want to see. If they are not coming then it is our fault not the audience. We have to break the system we created and start all over again. Think what kind of cinema they would like to watch, I want to start completely differently, and I have started doing that as well. Audience preferences have changed rapidly during the pandemic.”

He said, “There are many other things that need to be done and not only the actors but also the producers and theatres. Let me tell you that I want to reduce my fees by 30-40%. Theaters need to understand this. What is needed is that this is also a time of recession. Audiences have limited money to spend on entertainment. So everything has to change,” he said, “and it is not just theatre. We have to make films, at my cost. Have to work on cost. Everything needs to be started again.”
