- Eight laborers were freed and re-employed in the brick kiln
With the initiative of Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, eight laborers held hostage in Mizoram block were freed and put back to work in a brick kiln. It may be noted that eight laborers of Morwa block were held hostage for four days after other laborers fled from the chimney of the Mahal kiln near Badalpur in Mizoram. After the video pleading of the hostage laborers went viral, immediate action was initiated by the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs as soon as the news was read in the newspaper. As per the instructions of the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Alok Kumar Thakur, private secretary to the Minister, after taking the mobile number of the laborers from the head of Chaksikander Panchayat, Brajesh Prasad Rai, discussed with the hostage laborers and inquired about their condition. After taking care of the laborers, after taking the mobile number of the chimney owner from the laborers, all the laborers were instructed to release them unconditionally without any delay. As soon as the instructions of the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs were received, the Chimney owner has given assurance to all the laborers to free them from hostage and restore all facilities of food and drink and send them back home soon. Along with this, the video of restoration of all food and drink facilities by the laborers after being freed from hostage has also been made viral.
