Accused of extortion in Nalanda Sadar Hospital: The relatives of the patient said – Health workers take 500 to 1000 rupees for delivery

The exploits of Nalanda’s Sadar Hospital have come to the fore once again. Where illegal extortion is being done by health workers in the name of treatment. Last night, the matter of taking money in the name of treatment from the relatives of the obstetrician who came for delivery has come to the fore.

Among the victims are Munni Devi, wife of Monu Ram, resident of Banaulia of Bihar police station area, Chandni Kumari, wife of Sanjay Prasad, resident of Kundi Daruara village of Noorsarai police station area, and Tara Devi, wife of Chhote Paswan, resident of Oknama village of Deepnagar police station area. Who had reached Sadar Hospital for delivery last night after labor pains.

The relatives allege that the health workers present in the hospital have been extorted in the name of medicine and treatment. Medicines are also procured from outside. They were forcibly intimidated by saying that if the money is not given, then there will be no normal delivery. The relatives are accusing the nurses, ASHA and other health workers of taking 500 to 1000 rupees.

This is not the first case of taking money in Sadar Hospital. Even before this, in the name of ultrasound, the work of extorting money in the name of Khushnama has been done. So for the treatment that came to Sadar Hospital, the game of luring the family members along with the patient and getting them admitted to the private clinic has been done by the ASHA workers present there.

At present, in the matter of extortion of money, the Deputy Superintendent of the hospital said that action will be taken only after receiving a written complaint. Till now no such case has come to their knowledge.
