The court has sentenced the accused to 20 years for sexually abusing a girl by threatening to kill her. And a fine of Rs 10,000 has been imposed. Failure to pay the fine will lead to additional imprisonment for one year. This decision has been given by Brajesh Kumar Pathak, ADJ cum Special POCSO Court of Aurangabad Civil Court while hearing the decision in Mahila Thana Case No. 25/21. Convicted accused Farid Khan is a resident of Bantara village of Devkund police station area.
Section 4 of the POCSO Act and Section 376 of the IPC have been imposed with a sentence of 20 years and a fine of Rs 10,000. The counsel for the government side demanded maximum punishment for this heinous crime. While the defense counsel demanded minimum punishment to the accused due to his old age and first offence. After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the court gave its verdict.
Special PP Shivlal Mehta told that the accused had not got bail even from the Patna High Court. Advocate Satish Kumar Snehi said that on July 27, 2021, the FIR was lodged by the mother of the minor victim. In which it was said that the said accused had been sexually abusing her for several months and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
