Ahead of the inauguration of the new Parliament building, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met the mahants of the Madurai Adhanam at his residence. During this he took blessings from all the subordinates. The head priest of the Madurai Adhinam handed over the sengol to PM Modi. Sengol will be installed in the new Parliament House.
Addressing the mahants of the Madurai Adhinam, PM Modi said that it would have been better if the sacred Sengol was given its due respect after independence. Also a respectable place would have been given. But this sengol was put on display as a walking stick at Anand Bhawan in Prayagraj. But your ‘sevaks’ and our government have thrown Sengol out of Anand Bhawan.
