Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a big statement on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) on Tuesday, after which the discussion about it has intensified across the country. In a hurry, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board called an important meeting on Tuesday night, in which many lawyers were also involved. During this the legal aspects of UCC were discussed.
According to media reports, the Muslim Law Board has decided that it will prepare a draft in this matter. After this, he will meet the chairman of the Law Commission and hand it over to him. The essential rules of Shariah will be mentioned in this draft, so that it is not affected by UCC.
What was PM Modi’s statement?
In fact, PM Modi was on a tour of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. During this, he addressed BJP workers in Bhopal under the campaign ‘Mera booth, sabse koombhar’. PM Modi said that many political parties are misleading the Muslims.
The PM further said that in the name of UCC, the work of provoking people is being done. You only tell me that if there is one law for one member in a house and another law for another member, then how will that house be able to run? Then how will the house be able to run with such a dual system?
He said that the constitution also mentions equal rights of citizens. Many people keep talking about Muslims all day long, but if they were really well-wishers, today my Muslim brothers and sisters would not have lagged behind in the matter of education. They do not lag behind in terms of employment.

The UCC was discussed for three hours in the meeting of the Muslim Law Board. Many Muslim leaders were virtually involved in this. In which the names of AIMPLB President Saifullah Rahmani, President of Islamic Center of India and AIMPLB member Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali are included. In the matter, Maulana Khalid Rasheed said that this issue arises before every election. This is being done even before 2024. He is preparing a draft on this issue. They will place it before the Law Commission.
What is UCC?
Uniform Civil Code ie Uniform Civil Code means uniform law for all citizens living in the country, irrespective of religion or caste. In UCC, uniform law will apply to all religions in marriage, divorce and division of property. Although people of most religions are advocating it, but Muslim leaders are against it.
