Three died due to drowning in Kosi river in Purnia: All three had gone to bathe at Chhath Ghat, drowned in an attempt to save one

Shortly before the first Arghya in Purnia, 3 teenagers have died after drowning in the Kosi river. All three belong to the same family. The incident is from Madrasa Chowk of Kasba police station area. Chhath Ghat was built in the east of Kosi river from NH 57 forelane.

Family members say that on Sunday afternoon, all three went to Chhath Ghat by scooty. All three started bathing on the Kosi river. During this first a teenager drowned. In an attempt to save him, the three teenagers went deep. By the time someone came to rescue, all three were dead.

Relatives say that when all three did not reach to take the tour before offering Arghya, we started searching for all three. All three had left the house saying that they would go to Chhath Ghat. So we reached Chhath Ghat to find all three. The clothes of all three were found here. On the fear of drowning, with the help of a local diver, the bodies of all three were recovered. After that informed the police.

Here, as soon as the information was received, Kasba SHO Amit Kumar reached with Dalbal. And along with local divers started searching for the bodies of the three. About half an hour later, the bodies of all three were recovered. Before Chhath Arghya, there was chaos in the house after seeing the dead bodies of all three.

The deceased have been identified as Bobby Kumar (14) of Arvind Chaurasia, resident of Dogachi village under Kasba police station area, Himanshu Raj (13) son of Mukesh Kumar Chaurasia and Hrithik Raj (11) of Sanjeev Bhagat village of Gangdwar village in Madhubani district. There was a stir in the area after the incident.

There was a crowd of people around. Here, as soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot. Police took the bodies of all three and sent them for post-mortem. According to the police, all three died while bathing in the river. The bodies of all three were retrieved with the help of local divers. The bodies of all three were sent for post-mortem.
