Survey: Children from zero to 5 years will be surveyed for the eradication of measles-rubella

For the eradication of measles-rubella, a survey of children from zero to five years will be done. On the instructions of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the State Health Committee has sent a letter to the CS of the district. It has been mentioned in the departmental letter that measles and rubella are to be eradicated by 2023. The State Health Committee has said in its review report that measles and rubella vaccination is not being done in many districts. According to the report of the Health Committee, even 50 percent children were not fully vaccinated. Due to this the children did not get vaccinated for both these diseases. Departmental officials told that the campaign will be started in the district as well. Apart from Measles-Rubella, Pentavalent-1 vaccine will also be given to the children.

Its instructions have also been issued by the State Health Committee to the CS. Pentavalent-1 vaccine has been given to only 50 percent children in the district. After measles cases were reported in several states, the health department has prepared a plan to eradicate the disease. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has written a letter to the State Health Committee saying that new cases of measles have come to light in Bihar, therefore vaccination of children is necessary to prevent this disease. UNICEF has also expressed apprehension about the increase of this disease.

Children will be given an additional dose of both to eradicate measles and rubella. The Union Ministry of Family Welfare has said that according to the plan of UNICEF, children will be given an additional dose of protection against measles to prevent this disease. Apart from this, children in areas where children have not received this vaccine in the last six months will also be given this vaccine. Apart from this, this vaccination campaign will be started in areas where there have been complaints of measles and rubella in children below the age of nine months. The State Health Committee has directed that a survey will be conducted in all the blocks to see how many children have fallen victim to this disease.
