During this, when a youth was suspected and asked to stop for search, he tried to run away, after which the SSB chased him at a short distance and caught him. During his search, a large quantity of brown sugar was recovered from the youth. Its quantity was measured to be around 1 kg 730 grams, the price of which in the international market is estimated to be around 26 lakh rupees.
The smuggler has been questioned by the SSB. During the interrogation, he revealed his name as Rehmat Sheikh (24). The accused is a resident of Lalgola police station in West Bengal. After which the SSB has started taking further action.
