Senior State Weight-lifting Championship 2022 begins in Saharsa: For the first time in the district, courtesy of Bihar State Weightlifting Association

For the first time in Saharsa district, under the aegis of Bihar State Weightlifting Association and Saharsa District Weightlifting Association, Kumar Taranand Memorial Senior State Weightlifting Championship 2022 was inaugurated in the courtyard of Pooja Banquet. The competition was inaugurated by lighting the lamp jointly by Shri Arun Keshari, President of Bihar State Weightlifting Association and Dr. Vijay Shankar, President of Saharsa District Weightlifting Association.

On this occasion, Secretary of Bihar Weightlifting Association Suresh Prasad Singh, Treasurer Upendra Kumar, Secretary of Saharsa District Weightlifting Association Harendra Singh Major, Dr. Varun Kumar, Dr. RK Ravi, Dr. Shailendra Kumar, Joint Secretary Pritesh Ranjan, Secretary of Saharsa Civilian Rifle Club. Tridiv Singh, Bodybuilding Association secretary Shubham Sourav, Juhi Enterprises GM Mohd Imran Alam, Children’s Badminton Association secretary Khurshid Alam, Saharsa District Cricket Association secretary Badal Banerjee, Rana Ranjan Singh, Suresh Kumar Singh, Mithilesh Kumar were present.

A total of 285 players from all the districts of Bihar are participating in the state level weightlifting competition being held for the first time in Saharsa district. Organizing Secretary Harendra Singh Major said that this competition is being organized from November 4 to November 6 and the selected players will get a chance to participate in the national event. At the inaugural ceremony conducted by Tridiv Singh, Bihar President Arun Keshari showed his commitment to ensure India’s medal at the Olympics. Dr. Vijay Shankar, while welcoming the office bearers of Bihar Union, thanked Saharsa for giving an opportunity to organize such an event.
