Saudi military base receives 26 foreign evacuation flights from Sudan

JEDDAH — King Abdullah Air Base in the Western Sector received 26 foreign flights evacuating 2,889 nationals from Sudan. The nationals belonged to six countries — India, Pakistan, Sudan, Indonesia, Morocco, and Korea.

Twenty-two flights departed King Abdullah Air Base, carrying 2,558 people, via Pakistani, Indian, Thai, Ethiopian, Moroccan, Iranian, Mauritanian, Korean and Libyan airlines as well as United Nations planes.

The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) has carried out six evacuation flights from Sudan to the Kingdom since the start of the evacuations so far.

The Royal Saudi Air Forces have evacuated from Sudan approximately 530 Saudi citizens and nationals from Thailand, Sweden, Nigeria, Mali, Eritrea, United States, United Kingdom, Pakistan, South Africa, Australia, Somalia, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Benin, Chad , Philippines, Kenya, Norway, Palestine, Turkey, Indonesia, and Sudan.

These evacuations come in the implementation of the directives of the leadership and as part of the humanitarian efforts made by the Kingdom to protect and safety of citizens and nationals of the brotherly and friendly countries that have requested the assistance of their nationals and their transfer to safe places.
