Saptakranti Express coming to Muzaffarpur at Motihari on Friday avoided derailment. The workers working on the same track on which the train was coming, left the iron poles and fled. The driver applied the emergency brake after seeing the pole, due to which the train was stopped in time. The incident took place near Kunarpur Chintawanpur halt on Muzaffarpur-Motihari rail track.
Due to the emergency brake on the train, its wheels kept swaying for some distance on the track. Smoke started coming out of it. During this, a rumor spread among the passengers that the bogie had caught fire. But RPF jawan Mayank Kumar, who was present there, immediately explained to the people that the train did not catch fire and the chaos among the people calmed down.

Railway Path Inspector Naresh Kumar was getting the work done on the track without taking the block. Meanwhile, Saptakranti super fast train number 12558 from Anand Vihar to Muzaffarpur left from Motihari station. The train picked up speed. Then the driver of the train caught sight of the work going on on the track. They were forced to cross by lifting the long railway track from the middle of the tracks. The driver immediately started applying emergency brakes on the train. Seeing this, the workers got scared and ran away leaving the track in the middle of the track. But in time the driver stopped the train. However, the engine of the train got stuck in the track.
