Rajwinder Singh Bhatti, a 1990 batch IPS officer, has been made the new DGP of Bihar. A notification has been issued by the Bihar government on Sunday. The tenure of current DGP Sanjeev Kumar Singhal is ending on 19 December. Presently, Rajwinder Singh Bhatti is on central deputation and holds the post of ADG, Eastern Command of BSF.
IPS Bhatti has made a major contribution in the arrest of musclemen like Shahabuddin, Prabhunath Singh, Dilip Kumar Singh.
RS Bhatti is originally from Punjab. But because of his cadre being Bihar, he defeated many big musclemen during his work in Bihar. Every possible effort was made to strengthen law and order.
The special secret plan to arrest Bihar’s strongman Shahabuddin was executed by RS Bhatti. He was specially brought back to Bihar from central deputation during the 2005 assembly elections. After that he was given the charge as DIG in Siwan.
