Road accident in Purnia, one dead

In Purnia, a laborer working in the fruit market was badly injured after being crushed between two trucks. The local people took the injured to a private hospital. But due to the seriousness of the situation, he was referred to the Higher Center. The relatives were taking Bhagalpur Medical College. But he died before reaching the hospital. The incident took place on Saturday at Khushkibagh Katihar Mode fruit market under Sadar police station area.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Jahangir Alam (27 years), son of Mohammad Sajjad alias Sayyad, a resident of Pokharia under Mufassil police station area. Police sent the body to the Medical College for postmortem. There was chaos in the family as soon as the death was reported.

The relatives of the deceased told that Jahangir used to work as a laborer in the fruit market located in Khushkibagh Katihar Mode. He was backing up a truck loaded with fruit. A truck was already parked there. Both the trucks collided with each other and Jahangir died after being pressed between the two trucks. Local people told that there was chaos after the incident. People started saving Jahangir and here the driver started running away with the truck. Police personnel present at Katihar Mode chased and took both the truck and the driver into custody. It is being told that there was talk of Jahangir’s marriage. He was about to get married a few days later. But he died before tying the shehra on his head.
