As the war between Russia and Ukraine continues, the situation on the ground remains explosive for the past several months. The situation is such that no country is ready to bow down. In the midst of all this came threats from Russian President Vladimir Putin that increased the possibility of a nuclear attack. But now Putin has himself worked to put an end to those speculations. A big statement has come out from his side. He has insisted that Ukraine will not be subjected to a nuclear attack, there is no such preparation. On his behalf, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been called a patriot. In such a situation, on one hand he clarified his stand on Ukraine, while on the other hand he praised India’s independent foreign policy.
President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that we are ready to resume talks on strategic stability with the United States. But we did not get any response from the US on that. Amid the ongoing war in Ukraine, Russian Putin lambasted the West for playing a “dangerous, bloody and dirty” geopolitical game. Putin said that in the end America and its allies will have to talk to Russia.
Putin praises PM Modi
Putin questioned Biden on the one hand and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the other. He said that Modi is a big patriot. India has had an independent foreign policy and Russia has always had special relations. He said that Modi is capable of handling difficulties. Praising the spectacular economic development in India, he said that the foreign policy of PM Modi is independent.
The future belongs to India: Putin
Putin said during the annual Valdai discussion that India had made tremendous progress in its development from a British colony to a modern state. Nearly 1.5 billion people and tangible development results are a cause of respect and admiration for India. A lot has been done under the leadership of PM Modi. He is a patriot of his country. His idea of ’Make in India’ matters both economically and morally. The future belongs to India, it can be proud that it is the largest democracy in the world.
He said that we have special relations with India. We have never had any difficult issues and we have always supported each other and this is still happening. I am sure it will happen in future as well. Economic cooperation between the two countries is increasing, we have increased the volume of trade. Prime Minister Modi had asked me to increase the supply of fertilizers, which is very important for Indian agriculture. And we have done so. We have increased it by 7.6 times. Trade in agriculture has almost doubled.
Putin further said that Prime Minister Modi is one of those people in the world who is capable of conducting an independent foreign policy in the interest of his country. Despite any attempt to stop or limit some, he is moving India in the direction necessary for the Indian people. I am sure that India has a bright future and India’s role in global affairs is increasing.
Did America instigate the war?
Putin has spoken of a soft stance on Ukraine, accusing Western countries of provoking Ukraine on his behalf. It has been said that Western countries instigated Ukraine to increase their supremacy. Putin’s attitude towards America was seen in the early days of the war as well. In such a situation, this is a stand that has not changed after so many months. Now going a step further, Putin is even saying that he is ready to talk to the US, willing to negotiate strategic stability. But the allegation is that America is not giving any answer from its side, it is not responding to this proposal.
According to reports, Putin told the Valdai Discussion Club that the only ones in power around the world are those whom the West has put in the line of their game. But I would call it a dangerous, bloody and dirty game. The one who sows poison in the air, will face its storm. “I’ve always believed in common sense, so I’m sure that sooner or later the new centers of the multi-polar world order and the West will have to start negotiating equally on the future plan we share,” Putin said. The sooner the better.
Putin said the West, blinded by colonialism, helped fuel the conflict in Ukraine. He alleged that Western countries also tried to create a crisis in Taiwan to establish global dominance. Russia sent troops to Ukraine on 24 February this year. Even before this, in 1962, the Soviet Union and the US had come close to nuclear war when the Cuban Missile Crisis broke out.
Putin cited Russian leader Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s 1978 Harvard lecture to say that the West is openly racist and degrades other people of the world. He further said, trusting Western countries is a very dangerous situation. Russia will never accept what the West has to do. Unlike in the West, we do not go into the fencing of others.
