- BJP Could Only Save Seats, Missed An Opportunity To Show Performance; Sadhu Yadav Was Completely Ineffective
Patna13 minutes agoAuthor: Shambhu Nath
After the new political equation of Bihar, for the first time by-elections were held in Gopalganj and Mokama assembly. It was being considered as the semi-final before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. But the result has not changed much. The Gopalganj seat once again remained with the BJP. Anant Singh’s reign remained in Mokama’s seat.
Manikant Thakur, a senior journalist from Bihar and who knows the politics here, says that the results of the by-elections are not indicating any semi-final. They say that a big reason for this is that there is still so much time in the Lok Sabha elections that during this period, reversals are possible. In the result, neither Nitish Kumar’s JDU or Tejashwi’s RJD seem to be doing any profit or loss.
What was expected from BJP, it could not perform in the by-election.
Manikant Thakur says that the results of these by-elections are not by-elections showing any great potential. After the separation from Nitish Kumar, a new hope had arisen in the organization of BJP, to become a new force in Bihar. But this doesn’t seem to be happening in the by-election. The BJP does not seem to be gaining any such direction at the moment. The situation will not get better until the BJP leader is dismembered. Till now BJP has not been able to decide who is its leader in Bihar, who is its leader.
In the by-elections for two seats, BJP had given its full strength.
Nitish is ineffective in Bihar politics but BJP is missing the chance to emerge
The way Nitish Kumar did not play in the ticket selection for the by-election. He did not campaign anywhere while being CM. He cited his injury. Manikant Thakur says that the administration is also seen getting out of his hands. In such a situation, it is now clear that Nitish has become ineffective in Bihar politics. But those who want to make an impact are also lagging behind. Meanwhile, BJP has a better chance to emerge but it doesn’t seem to be happening at the moment.
Can BJP present a challenge in the upcoming elections?
On this question, Bihar’s senior journalist Arun Pandey says that even if there is not much change in the results of this by-election, the BJP has definitely become strong. Even amidst the new equation of the Grand Alliance, Gopalganj managed to save the seat. After 27 years, BJP had fielded a candidate on its symbol in Mokama. There too, it was effective in getting more than 60 thousand votes. Till now BJP was doing politics in Bihar with the help of Nitish Kumar. But it is certain from the performance of the by-election that BJP can present a big challenge in the politics of Bihar.
Owais is the leader of circumstances, not a big factor in Bihar
For the first time after Seemanchal, Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM had fielded its candidate in Saran region. Candidate of AIMIM stood third in this election with 12212 votes. He also beat the wife of veteran leader Sadhu Yadav here in terms of votes. In such a situation, can Owaisi’s party become a big factor in the politics of Bihar. On this question, senior journalist Manikant Thakur says that it depends on the circumstances. Wherever Muslim society feels in Bihar that RJD candidates are not capable of defeating BJP candidates, they will vote for them. They say that fanaticism and favoritism belong to Owaisi only because the political leadership of Muslim society has not emerged. Hence Owaisi.
Sadhu’s chessboard almost over after the edge of Lalu family
The sadhu yadav whose image is of Vikas Purush in Gopalganj. Who came second in the 2020 assembly election with 40 thousand votes. In this election, almost his politics seems to be getting brakes. His wife Indira Yadav was contesting in this election. She came fourth with 8853 votes. Political experts say that now Sadhu Yadav has come to an end. These people will not stay anywhere. The Lalu family, which had given him the identity, has now been thrown out in such a way that it seems that he was never with the Lalu family. As soon as Lalu’s hand is hunted, he has become almost untouchable for the politics of Bihar.
BJP Claims Luv-Kush And EBC Votes Transferred From JDU To BJP
Former Deputy Chief Minister, Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Modi said that it is clear from the results of the two by-elections that the people rejected the Mahagathbandhan government of seven parties and Nitish Kumar could not even save his base vote. He said that in Gopalganj, the BJP won by keeping its base vote united. It is a big deal for the party to get more than 63 thousand votes in Mokama. He said that due to JD(U) joining hands again with RJD, Nitish Kumar’s Luv-Kush and OBC votes have shifted to BJP. They have lost the ability to transfer votes.
Even the unity of the Grand Alliance could not bring success in Gopalganj.
RJD claims – we have broken into BJP’s traditional vote bank
RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav says that we have become stronger after Nitish Kumar came to the grand alliance. Have managed to break into BJP’s vote bank. Both Mokama and Gopalganj are traditional vote banks of the BJP. But in Mokama, the Grand Alliance candidate has won by a huge margin. It is clear from this that the Grand Alliance has made a big dent in the vote bank of the BJP. Shakti Singh Yadav says that in Gopalganj where we once lost by 40 thousand votes, we have missed by the minimum margin. But, our victory is certain in the upcoming general election.
The results of the by-elections may not show any immediate change in the politics of Bihar, but its effect will definitely be visible in the upcoming elections in Bihar. On one hand BJP will try to stabilize its slipping core vote bank. On the other hand, for the mobilization of the Dalit vote bank, she will try to connect small parties and leaders like Chirag Paswan and Mukesh Sahni with her. Chirag Paswan has already expressed his intention in the by-election. On the other hand, taking all the parties along for the Grand Alliance will be a challenge. Their next examination will be the selection of candidates in the Kudhni by-election.
