Voting for the Municipal Council elections in Bettiah’s Narkatiaganj will begin tomorrow i.e. Sunday morning at 7 am. Section 144 will remain in force in the Municipal Council area till the polling in view of the elections. Voters going to vote cannot take mobile phones to the booths. A total of 94 candidates are in the fray for the post of Deputy Chief Councilor and Ward Councilor in Narkatiaganj. In which there are 9 candidates for the post of Deputy Chairman and 85 councillors. A total of 52 polling stations have been set up for voting. In which 22 PCCPs, 25 sectors have been deputed. Polling will be held at two Adarsh ​​booths, two pink booths and 7 mobile booths in the city.

Voting will be held amid tight security

A control room has been set up in the subdivision from where the election will be monitored. While instructing the patrolling cum collecting party and all the sector officials in the high school of the city, Deputy Development Commissioner Anil Kumar said that in case of emergency on the day of polling, if there is any problem in the control unit (CU) and ballot unit (BU), quick diagnosis should be done. After the polling is over, the PCCP and Sector Magistrate will close the machine completely and take it to the district headquarters along with the presiding officer. At the same time, about one and a half hour before the commencement of polling i.e. from 5:30 am, mock poll has to be conducted. After this, start polling from 7 am in any case. It has to be kept in mind that the voting process should be completely transparent. If there is any discrepancy, the Sector Magistrate will diagnose it. Not all sector magistrates will move from their cluster points. On the other hand, Superintendent of Police Upendra Nath Verma while instructing all the police officers said that it is everyone’s responsibility to conduct polling at sensitive booths amid tight security arrangements.
