Prashant Kishore’s padyatra, which started on 2 October 2022, has covered a journey of more than 2 months till now. The padyatra, which started from West Champaran after running for 50 days in the district, is now covering a distance of about 20 km daily in the villages of East Champaran. During this, Prashant Kishor meets thousands of people daily, communicates with them and tries to understand their problems.

Prashant Kishor tells in his speeches that he will go to every district of Bihar through padyatra and understand the problems of the people. During this, like in West Champaran, he will also ask people in every district whether Jan Suraj Abhiyan should become a political party or not? The Jan Suraj Padyatra has covered a distance of more than 700 km so far, and more than 2800 km is yet to be covered in this journey.

Getting ready in the morning, they move out of their tents at 9 am and this is where their day begins.

During the Jan Suraj Padyatra, Prashant Kishor stops for the night rest in the padyatra camp made of tents and leaves for the next stop in the morning. Hundreds of hikers also stay with them in the camp, most of them have been walking with them since 2 October. Prashant Kishor’s morning starts around 9 am. Getting ready in the morning, they move out of their tents at 9 am and this is where their day begins. Usually Prashant Kishor meets local journalists first thing in the morning and interacts with them.

He has both formal and informal interactions with journalists. Prashant Kishor is seen asking journalists about local problems and feedback of the padayatra. During this, Prashant Kishore attacks all political parties including BJP, JDU. After this, Prashant Kishor meets with the members of the local Jan Suraj block committee of the block where he is and discusses Jan Suraj’s thinking and further strategy. After this, around 11 am, Prashant Kishor along with hundreds of pedestrians, block committee members and local people leaves for the proposed padyatra for the day.

They travel about 18 to 22 km in a day and reach the second camp in the evening.

Prashant Kishor travels about 18 to 22 km in a day and reaches the other camp in the evening. During this, he addresses small gatherings in about 6 to 7 villages and panchayats a day, and explains the purpose of the padayatra to the people and seeks their opinion on this new initiative. After getting the blessings of the people from Dhvanimat, all the villagers leave Prashant Kishore and come to the border of their village. Some of the villagers also walk with them for the whole day.

Around 2 pm all the hikers stop for lunch.

Calmly answers all questions

The special thing about Prashant Kishor’s meetings is that people ask him questions about his vision and try to clear all their doubts. Prashant answers everyone’s questions patiently and also asks them for suggestions to improve. Around 2 pm all the hikers stop for lunch. Food is usually arranged in a school ground and all the pedestrians eat here and after resting for about half an hour leave for the further distance.

After covering the whole day’s distance, Prashant Kishor reaches the padyatra camp with hundreds of pilgrims at around 8 am and addresses the hundreds of local people present in the camp. After this everyone eats together. After the meal, Prashant Kishor meets some people who have come to meet him and takes stock of the preparations for the next day and goes to rest in his tent.
