Manila : A Korean Air plane got stuck in a grassy field due to rain, skidding off the runway at Philippine Airport Closed on Monday. None of the 162 passengers and 11 crew members on board the aircraft were injured. Passengers had to use the emergency gate to exit the plane.
Mactan International Airport, one of the country’s busiest airports, is closed with its only runway on the ground with planes stranded and dozens of flights cancelled. The President of Korean Air apologized to the people and resolved to take steps to prevent such incidents from happening in future by one of Asia’s most reputed airlines.

“We always prioritize safety in our operations and we apologize for the inconvenience and inconvenience caused to our passengers,” Korean Air President Wu Keihong said in a statement. The aircraft was also damaged in this incident. The Philippines is investigating the incident. Philippine officials said the remaining fuel would be removed before resumption efforts could begin.
Korean airlines co.com said in a statement that the Airbus A330 plane from Incheon, South Korea, tried to land twice before overtaking the runway. (agency)
