    Panic among villagers: 100 feet PCC road in Sabour’s English engulfs Ganga, three schools in Pirpainti are in danger

    The PCC path was damaged by erosion in the English village.

    The water level in the Ganges is slowly receding. As the water recedes, erosion has started in the coastal areas. After three days, again there is severe erosion in Sabour and Pirpainti. In the English village of Farka Panchayat of Sabour, on Monday afternoon, 100 PCC road got cut due to erosion. After the road has been cut, the villagers are facing lot of problems in commuting. Villager Sanjit Kumar Yadav told that now four wheelers are not passing through this road. For this, we have to travel 5 kilometers to Sabour or Bhagalpur. Seeing the speed of erosion, there is panic among the villagers.

    Even a week ago, the houses of two people of the village had merged with the Ganges. Here, on Tuesday, the chairman of ST Commission Shambhu Kumar Suman visited various villages including Dayalpur Kuti, Tapua, Ekchari, Khawaspur, Bakharpur, Mohanpur Madhuban of Pirpainti block on Tuesday. The villagers demanded for boulder pitching to stop the erosion in Tapua and Ekchari Diara. People said that anti-erosion work should be started soon, so that the school and village can be saved. The chairman of the ST Commission said that there is severe erosion in Tapua and Ekchari Diara.

    The Ekchari Diyaara under construction Scheduled Caste-Tribe Residential School has come up at the mouth of the river. The same situation is with the basic school and high school of Tapua Diyara. Both the schools can merge in the Ganges at any time. In Bakharpur, the people of the ST community demanded waiver of the bij bill. The chairman of the commission said that its report would be given to the government. On the occasion, ZIP member Vicky Rani, BDO Chandan Kumar Chakraborty, Ekchari SHO Mukesh Kumar etc. were present.
