Newlyweds commit suicide in Nalanda: Marriage took place 5 months ago, fear of domestic dispute; Family accused of murder

A newly married woman died under suspicious circumstances in Nalanda on Friday. The case is of Badi Chhaiyari village of Tharthari police station area. The deceased is Pradumna Ram’s (18) year old wife Chhoti Kumari. In the context of the incident, a resident of Pokharpur village of Pawapuri OP area, the maternal uncle of the deceased, told that after marriage, the demand for motorcycle and money was made by the in-laws’ family. The in-laws family hanged themselves on Friday and got information about it by the people of the neighbourhood. After this they reached Choti Kumari’s in-laws, all the members of the house are absconding since the incident.

Actually this year, 5 months ago, Chhoti Kumari was married to Praduman Kumar. According to the villagers, he has committed suicide. The marriage took place in the Pavapuri temple only 5 months ago. According to the villagers, the married woman has committed suicide due to family dispute. The local police station, who arrived after receiving information about the suicide, took the body into custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem late in the night. Tharthari Police Station Officer Rakesh Kumar said that prima facie the matter of suicide is coming to the fore. Further action will be taken on receipt of written complaint.
