    • The attention of the administration is not on the garbage collected at various ghats on the banks of the river, the residents are already worried about dengue.
    • Bhaskar investigation: People are facing problems due to the foul smell emanating from the garbage spread on the road in the market.

After the conclusion of Mahaparv Chhath, garbage is piled up at various places in the city. But the city administration remains careless in the matter of cleanliness. Two to four days before the Chhath festival and during the festival, special arrangements were made for cleanliness. But after the end of the festival, the city council has become sluggish, due to which there is a lot of garbage on the main street of the market, including all the major squares and streets. On Tuesday, when the Bhaskar team investigated the city, the situation came to the fore. Where garbage was found spread everywhere in and around the main ghat of Chhath Puja, on the other hand, garbage was seen at all the major square intersections. Garbage was seen in the entire station road including Municipal Road, Shaheed Prabhunarayan Chowk, Sagarmal Chowk, Mile Road in the city. It is noteworthy that the city council spends Rs 24 lakh every month on cleanliness. In this, Rs 10 lakh is given to selected NGOs for cleanliness. Despite this, the sanitation situation in the city is worse. Last month, Khagaria city had become a hot spot of dengue infection. More than three hundred dengue patients were found in the urban area. Even now in many places people are infected by dengue mosquito bites. But after the end of the festival, carelessness in cleanliness is being done.

The smell coming from the pile of garbage in Mile Road

Apart from many big establishments, there are clinics of many prominent doctors in the Mile Road of the city. But here too there was a lack of cleanliness. Local shopkeepers cleaned the front of their respective shops and deposited the garbage, but it was not lifted. Due to which the garbage spread on the road.

Most of the garbage in the station road, the smell of rotten fruits
The city’s busiest station road saw the most filth. The two-lane road from Rajendra Chowk to the main gate of the station to Bakhri bus stand was littered with garbage on both sides. The smell of rotten fruits and vegetables thrown at many places was coming from far and wide. There was no cleanliness even on the second day after the conclusion of the Mahaparv.

    Garbage spreading on Sagarmal Chowk

Garbage was also spread at Sagarmal Chowk located in the main market of the city. Being the main market, there is a crowd of people from morning till evening. There is a fear of spreading infection due to dirt. Recently, many patients infected with dengue were found in many houses around Sagarmal Chowk.

There was no cleanliness even in the municipal road
There is a huge crowd of buyers in the municipal road of the city. Apart from the vegetable market, people reach here for the purchase of clothes and other items. The city council office is also located on this road. But even in this road, there was a pile of garbage on the road everywhere.

There was cleanliness in Chhath festival. There was a problem with the festival. Now where there is garbage, workers will be deployed from tonight itself. The city administration is conscious about cleanliness. Right now I am in a meeting. After this, where there is dirt, the place will be cleaned.
