Washington. US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco residence was attacked by an assailant early Friday and assaulted her husband. People familiar with the incident said that Nancy’s husband Paul Pelosi (82) is currently admitted in a hospital and doctors are treating him.
Two people with knowledge of the incident told the Associated Press news agency on Friday that Paul was attacked with a blunt weapon in the attack. A spokeswoman for Nancy Pelosi said Paul was hurt but was expected to make a full recovery.
Nancy’s spokesman, Drew Hamill, said the attacker had been taken into custody and the motive for the attack was being investigated. Hamill said in a statement, “Speaker and his family are grateful to the medical personnel and those who helped him after the incident. Also, he requested that his privacy be respected at this time.”
