Myanmar: Myanmar’s military has been accused of beheading a schoolteacher and hanging him at the door in Taung Myint village of Manwe rural area. According to eyewitness testimony and photographs taken there, the beheaded body of 46-year-old teacher Sau Tun Moe was found lying on the ground in front of the school door with the head hanging over the door. The school has been closed since last year and signs of arson have also been found in it.
A rural woman told the news agency that the incident happened at 9.30 am on Sunday. She was among about two dozen villagers, including Sau Tun Moe, who were hiding behind a hut in a peanut field, when a group of more than 80 soldiers with armed men arrived and opened fire in the air.
The woman told that the soldiers caught her. Their phones and other belongings were confiscated and on the orders of an officer the three men were separated from the group and took only Sau Tun Moe with him. An eyewitness said Saw Tun Moe was taken to Taung Myint village, about a kilometer away, and murdered there the next day. The woman came to know about the incident on Monday morning. The teacher used to teach her two children, so she is very sad.
Army gives weapons to villagers
In Myanmar, the military often provides weapons to civilians and makes them work for themselves. Ordinary citizens act as guides during raids. But panic is spread by publicly punishing those who raise their voice against it.

Another resident of Taung Myint village said he saw Saw Tun Moe’s body after the soldiers left. He first called his friends and then himself went closer to the dead body and saw it. He immediately recognized Teacher Moe. The villager said, “Teacher Moe used to come to our village as a school teacher for the last few months and wanted to educate our children.
World fraternity should give strong response: America
“We are shocked by reports that Myanmar’s military regime has arrested, publicly murdered and beheaded a schoolteacher in the Magwe region,” US State Department spokesman Ned Price said on Twitter. The international community must react strongly to the brutal violence of the military regime against teachers.
