ISLAMABAD — At the invitation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, delivered the Eid sermon on Wednesday at the King Faisal Mosque in Pakistan.

This mosque, the largest in South Asia and the fourth largest globally can accommodate 300,000 worshippers inside and 200,000 in its courtyards. The sermon was simultaneously interpreted into Urdu, a language spoken by nearly a billion people worldwide.

Al-Issa commenced his sermon by congratulating Muslims on Eid Al-Fitr and praying to Allah Almighty to accept their fasting and prayers during Ramadan. He underlined that Islamic Shariah exemplifies the pinnacle of moral and behavioral standards. The MWL Secretary-General stressed the importance of Muslims correcting misconceptions about Islam through their actions, rather than mere words.

Al-Issa also praised the significant role of Muslim women in their societies and homes, emphasizing their impact on nurturing children with righteousness and correct religious principles. He concluded his sermon by praying for the people of Gaza, entreating Allah Almighty to alleviate their suffering, protect them from aggression, and grant them victory.
