The Supreme Court has corrected its typing error on November 28 regarding the commission related to the issue of reservation in municipal elections in Bihar. On Thursday, the court clarified that the ‘Economically Backward Class Commission’ mentioned in paragraph 4 of its order should be read as ‘Extremely Backward Class Commission’. It may be noted that on November 28, the Court had ordered not to notify the ‘Extremely Backward Classes Commission’ as a dedicated commission for politically backward castes in municipal elections. The court is hearing the issue of validity of this commission or commission. Whereas, on the basis of the report related to reservation of this commission, the dates of municipal elections have been declared.

Political parties did a lot of politics citing this typing error of the court; A round of allegations and counter-allegations followed; Each other was made to stand in the dock according to the party line; Each other was said to be anti-backward-extremely backward and to kill the rights of this community. And, on Thursday, when the Supreme Court corrected the typographical error, that is more or less what happened. However, the ruling Jamaat remained silent; BJP was the aggressor.

The Advocate General said in the High Court – Elections will be held on 18th and 28th
Advocate General Lalit Kishore told the Patna High Court that the dates for holding the civic body elections have been announced. Elections will be held on 18th and 28th of this month. The counting of votes will take place on December 31. In the last hearing, the court wanted to know whether after the expiry of the time limit of 5 years, where the administrators have been appointed for 6 months, elections will be held before the end of their term or not?

On this, government lawyer Kinkar Kumar had told the court that elections would be held by December 31 under any circumstances. A division bench of Justice Ehsanuddin Amanullah and Justice Sunil Dutt Mishra posted the matter for hearing on December 19 after hearing the writ petitions filed by Vijay Kumar Vimal and others.
