Katihar urban area suddenly came to a standstill on Monday evening, all kinds of vehicles were seen crawling on the main road of the city. Pedestrians had to cover a distance of 10 minutes in hours and that too with great difficulty.
In fact, it happened that under the Agneepath scheme, on the fourth day of the recruitment rally at Army’s Garhwal Maidan on Monday, thousands of military candidates coming and going back reached the railway station. When thousands of young candidates from Madhepura, Purnia and Supaul districts came out of the railway station, suddenly the speed of vehicles galloping on the main road slowed down and slowly or slowly stopped.
Long queue of vehicles up to 2 kilometers
As a result, a 2 kilometer long queue of vehicles started from Shaheed Chowk to Sahayak Thana. All the vehicles were seen crawling, the passers-by could not understand what to do and what not to do. Everyone was in a hurry to reach their respective destination, that’s why many such vehicle owners started trying to move here and there keeping the traffic rules in mind, due to which the speed of the vehicles coming in the other lane also got braked. The traffic police on duty at Assistant Police Station Chowk, JP Chowk and Shaheed Chowk could not understand what to do and what not to do in this situation. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, Traffic Station Incharge Dinesh Kumar succeeded in restoring the traffic system smoothly with the help of additional police force.
Now the question arises that under the Agneepath scheme in Katihar, for the restoration of fire heroes in the army, the movement of candidates from different districts is pre-planned continuously for 1 month. Then why didn’t the traffic administration make any proper arrangement in such a situation? In such a situation, for how long will the residents of the city have to face the problem of jam. There is a need for the traffic administration to make complete arrangements.
