There was a sensation in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge-12 Dinesh Kumar Pradhan in Muzaffarpur on Wednesday when advocate Pankaj Kumar reached there for the hearing with a loaded pistol. On the instructions of the judge, his security guard took the advocate into his possession with a loaded pistol and cartridges. This information was given to the Town Police Station. The advocate was taken into custody in the court room itself. There was chaos throughout the day in the court premises after the lawyer was taken into custody. In view of the security, police of many police stations and a large number of soldiers were deployed in the court premises.
In the evening, a delegation led by District Bar Association President Ramkrishna Thakur alias Rambabu Thakur, Vice President Dr. Sangeeta Shahi and General Secretary Sachidanand Singh met District Judge Manoj Kumar Sinha and informed about it and demanded his intervention in the matter. The District Judge called the Additional District and Sessions Judge-12 in this regard and inquired about the matter. After this, an FIR was lodged against advocate Pankaj Kumar in the town police station. Adhika was arrested and sent to jail. The District Bar Association called a general meeting of advocates on Thursday regarding this issue. Further strategy will be discussed in this.
Ongoing case of land dispute
It was told that in the year 2017 regarding the land related dispute, advocate Pankaj Kumar has filed various suits in the court. Contempt was started against him for being absent in its hearing and not following the order of the court. The court had also imposed a cast of five hundred rupees on him. There was a hearing in the court on Wednesday in the case of diversification. Advocates had reached the court regarding this hearing. During the debate in the case, the judge’s eyes fell on the pistol hanging in his waist. The advocate told that he had gone to the court to inquire about the next date.

There was a ruckus in the court premises over the detention of the advocate. In the evening, when it came to know that Pankaj Kumar would not be released, the advocates came to the ruckus. They raised slogans in the court premises, however, after persuasion by the office bearers of the association, everyone calmed down. This went on for the whole day. A large number of advocates had also reached the town police station. Due to which an atmosphere of confusion was created. However, after the intervention of other advocates, everyone calmed down and returned.
