The incident of killing a 92-year-old father and performing his last rites in Jeevanwala village of Kotkapura police station Sadar in Punjab has come to light. On the statement of Nirmal Kaur, the married daughter of the deceased Kikkar Singh, the police have registered a case against her brother Lakhveer Singh under the sections of murder and mutilation of the dead body.
In a statement given to the police, Nirmal Kaur, a resident of Demru Kalan village of Moga, said that her father Kikkar Singh had been living with her brother Lakhveer Singh in Jeevanwala village for a long time. Two days ago when she came to her maternal home, her father told that Lakhveer had got all the property in his name and now he beats her with the intention of killing her and does not even give her bread.
After this Nirmal Kaur came to her in-laws house. One day in the morning a person got a call from his village. He told that his father had died and the last rites had also been performed at five in the morning.
