The post-mortem of Gurjit Kaur, wife of senior sub-block chief Gurtaj Singh Bhullar in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, was done by a panel of two doctors at around 3 pm on Wednesday night. Videography of the post-mortem was also done. According to sources, the bullet in the woman’s body came out tearing her lungs, due to which she died. Apart from this injury, there was no other obvious injury on his body.
After the jam opened at around 11 pm on Wednesday night, the police and administration had made preparations to conduct post-mortem of Gurjit Kaur in the night itself. The post-mortem was conducted by a panel of two doctors at three o’clock in the night under the surveillance of video cameras. Sources related to the hospital said that the woman died of bullet injury, but the bullet was not recovered during the post-mortem as it passed through her body.
Whether the bullet from which the woman died, whether it was from a government weapon or a private weapon, the answer is not with the police at present. When this question was also asked to DIG Nilesh Anand Bharane, he said that the investigation would continue, calling it part of the investigation.
The bullet itself is that important link in this case, which will prove to a great extent whether Gurjit Kaur’s family members are right or the UP Police, because both the parties have different claims in this case. Gurjit Kaur’s side says that she died due to police bullets, while UP Police says that no woman was shot by their soldiers.
Experts say that the bullets of government weapons and private weapons are different. In such a situation, it is not a big deal to find out from the experts whether the bullet which caused the death of the woman came from a government weapon or a private one.
In the house of senior deputy chief Gurtaj Singh where his wife was murdered, there have been scuffles with the police twice in the past. Both the times the police had to return barefoot. However, in both the cases, the police had registered a report against the accused. No case has been registered against any family member for the last 10 years. Gurtaj Singh has a lot of prestige in the field due to his work in the social sector. The residents of the area are deeply saddened by the death of Gurjit.
At the same time, Gurjit Kaur was given a final farewell with moist eyes on Thursday. During this, the family kept on weeping while the villagers were very angry towards the accused. The relatives of the deceased have appealed to DIG Nilesh Anand Bharene and SSP Manjunath TC for justice. The family said that in any case those people who killed Gurjit should be punished. Hundreds of people attended Gurjit’s funeral.
