Now their meat lumps are stuck in the same tree.

The dead include 6 girls and two boys. Villager Manoj Rai said that a temple has been built on the roadside at the site of the incident. Worship is being done there since 50-60 years. Till date no such incident has happened there. People have been serving the Devasthal since generations.
Had the tree not been there, more than 50 people would have died.
Eyewitness Anuj Kumar Rai of the village tells that the worship of Navatan was almost completed. Everyone was about to return to their respective homes when the uncontrolled truck going from Hajipur towards Mahnar came right instead of left and crushed the people present here. After this he collided with a Peepal tree. According to Anuj, if the truck had not hit the tree, at least more than 50 people would have died.

Postmortem done in a hurry, special team formed
After the information of the accident, the entire team of the district administration led by the District Magistrate reached Naya Gaon 28 Tola. All the dead bodies were brought to Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital at 1 am under the leadership of DM. A post mortem board was constituted and within 2 hours till 2 am the post mortem of all the dead bodies was done. After this, the dead body was sent back to the village under the leadership of Sadar SDPO Om Prakash.

While the villagers are alleging that the driver was completely drunk. Due to this this accident happened. But the police is currently refusing to accept it. Hajipur’s SDPO Om Prakash told Dainik Bhaskar that this is a matter of research. Only after the investigation, he will be able to say something in this matter.
Driver in police custody, prevented from meeting; No clear answer on FIR
The villagers tried to thrash the driver at the spot, but the police who reached the spot immediately took him into custody. His treatment is currently going on at Hajipur Sadar Hospital. Whether the case has been registered against the driver or not, the police is not giving any clear information at present. SDPO Om Prakash told that at present the research is going on. Only after this they will be able to tell anything clearly in this matter.

After the incident, the administration is in full alert mode. The entire Naya 28 Tola village has been converted into a cantonment. More than 100 jawans are continuously patrolling here. The jawans told that they are trying that there should not be any kind of violence in the village. Complete preparations have been made by the administration to ensure that there is no vandalism in vehicles or road jam. Along with the Bajravahan, the Rapid Action Force has also been put on alert mode.

1. Breaker should be installed on the road.
2. A special campaign should be run to check those who drive after drinking alcohol.
