    Gujarat Election: In the second phase, the fate of nine ministers including the Chief Minister and these veterans is at stake, know the equation

    In the second phase of Gujarat assembly elections, polling will be held on 93 seats in 14 districts today. A large part of these are also in the seats bordering Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, including the tribal-dominated Panchmahal. These areas also include Gujarat’s capital Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Anand, world famous for milk production. Many veterans of Congress, BJP and AAP are in the fray on these 93 seats. At stake is the fate of the chief minister and eight ministers in his cabinet. Let us know what is the electoral equation in their area?

    1. Bhupendra Patel, Chief Minister: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Bhai Patel is the BJP candidate from Ghatlodia assembly seat. Earlier, Anandi Ben Patel, the former Chief Minister of the state was elected MLA from Ghatlodiya. In the 2012 Gujarat elections, Anandiben Patel defeated Rameshbhai Patel of Congress by one lakh 10 thousand votes. Anandiben later became the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Whereas, in the year 2017, Bhupendra Patel defeated Shashikant Bhurabhai of Congress with a huge margin of one lakh 17 thousand votes. After this Patel was made the Chief Minister of the state. In this election, the BJP has again fielded the current Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel from this seat. The CM is contesting against Ami Yagnik of Congress and Vijay Patel of Aam Aadmi Party.

    2. Hrishikesh Patel, Health Minister: BJP has given ticket to Gujarat Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel from Visnagar assembly seat. Congress has nominated Kiritbhai Ishwarbhai Patel and Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Jayantilal Mohanlal Patel against Rishikesh. There are more than 33 percent Patidar voters in this seat. There are 24 per cent Thakor, 10 per cent OBC and 10 per cent SC voters. Seven percent are Muslims. Voters from other castes are 12 percent. Hrishikesh Patel had won from this seat in 2012 and 2017.

    3. Jagdish Vishwakarma, Minister of State: Gujarat Minister of State Jagdish Vishwakarma is contesting from Nikol assembly seat. Congress has given ticket to Ranjit Singh Barad and Aam Aadmi Party to Ashok Gajera against Jagdish. Jagdish Vishwakarma had won from this seat in 2017.

    4. Manisha Vakil, Minister of State: Manisha Vakil is contesting on a BJP ticket from Vadodara City. Manisha is the Minister of State in the Bhupendra Patel government. He had won this seat in 2017 as well. This time Congress has fielded Gunwantrai Parmar and Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Jigarbhai Bhanuprasad Solanki against Manisha.
