    Patna16 minutes agoWriter: Manish Mishra

The road built on many ghats is not walkable.

The government is making efforts to bring the Ganga closer, but in Patna, the Ganga is getting away. Like every time, this time too big claims are being made about the ghats, but the drains have become a big obstacle between the Ganges which is away from the city. The distance of the Ghat from the road is such that it is not easy to reach the Ghats for Arghya by rough roads. The great festival of public faith has started, but the preparations for the administration have not been completed yet. In Bhaskar’s investigation, the condition of the ghats has been found to be bad. The road built from the road to the ghat is also not going to give relief to the devotees, because the road built on many ghats is not walkable, bringing sick and old devotees here by vehicle will have to play with danger.

Chhath Puja will be held at 105 Ghats

Due to the threat of flood in the year 2022, the administration has declared 16 ghats of Patna as dangerous. There will be a total of 105 Ghats or Chhath Puja in Patna district. For this the administration has claimed preparation. The administration claims that complete arrangements have been made for the devotees at the ghats. Temporary connectivity routes have also been made to connect the ghats, but Bhaskar’s investigation has found the condition of the ghats to be pathetic. It will be a big challenge for the devotees to reach the Ghat at Pehalwan Ghat, located near major areas like Rajapur Bridge in Patna and Boring Road along the Boring Canal Road. Here the distance from the main road to the ghat will be about 4 km. Devotees will be out of breath to reach this ghat connected to Marine Drive, because the path made here is not completely flat. It is also difficult to go by any means on the rough road. It is also very difficult to reach the ghat on foot.

In Bhaskar’s investigation, the preparation of the administration looks quite sluggish.

People have to cover a long distance to reach Pehalwan Ghat. The distance between the Ganges has increased due to the Nanala and the bridge between Marine Drive and Ghat. The pilgrims will have to face a lot of challenges to cover the distance of about 4 km from Marine Drive. The festival has started but the path is not yet complete. Claying has been done but that too is not completely equal.

Difficulty increased due to reduced number of ghats

The administration is making a lot of claims regarding Chhath, but do not go on the claims of the administration. This time it will be very difficult due to less number of ghats. Due to lesser ghats, the main ghats will be more crowded this time than before. Similar is the case with the Pehalwan Ghat built for the major areas of Patna. Due to declaring the nearby ghats like Bans Ghat and Collectorate Ghat as dangerous, this time the rush of devotees will be more at Pehalwan Ghat, in such a situation the bad road and distance from the road will be heavy.

In Bhaskar’s investigation, the preparation of the administration looks quite sluggish. A little work is being done on the decoration, but no special attention is being paid to the barricades and roads. It is quite difficult to get down from Marine Drive to Pehalwan Ghat. The journey to the ghat can be a challenge for the common people, in such a situation how the Nirjala Chhath Vratis will reach the ghat is a big question.

    Alert about corona with security

Patna Divisional Commissioner Kumar Ravi has claimed that preparations are being completed for Chhath Mahaparv. Instructions have been issued from crowd management to security arrangements and to follow the Kovid protocol. For this, a large-scale deployment of magistrates and police officers has been done. Arrangements have been made by the Railways to run hundreds of special trains, which are being operated from Danapur and Patna. There is a special focus on safety, convenience, compliance of Kovid protocol and crowd management of passengers.

It is being claimed that deputation of magistrates and police officers has been done at 206 places regarding law and order in Patna. Magistrates and police officers have been deployed at 116 places in Patna Sadar sub-division, 80 places in Patna City sub-division and 10 places in Danapur sub-division. All SDOs and SDPOs have been deployed for law and order in their respective areas. Armed forces, lathi forces and women forces have also been deployed with them. All the deputed magistrates and police officers are directed to reach their duty places in time.

    43 Watch Towers Surveillance

43 watch towers have been built in Patna to monitor Chhath Puja. It is being claimed that full monitoring will be done from these watch towers. Civil Defense Volunteers have been deputed on this. The agencies have been given the responsibility of making complete arrangements for getting the work done on the Chhath Ghats. Officers have been deputed to regularly inspect the agencies and to know the progress of work, but due to the pace of work, it seems that monitoring is being done arbitrarily. Although talking about the administrative claims, the Chhath Ghats will be repaired in time, but how the work will be completed in 3 days is a big question.

The administration has left the entire work to the agencies. The arbitrariness of the agencies will overwhelm the entire system. Although the administration claims that river patrolling has been arranged through motor vote. A total of 18 river patrol teams have been deputed. All these will be equipped with motor launches, life jackets, divers and other equipment. Continuous patrolling will be done by the river patrol team to ensure that no anti-social elements can disturb the river in any way. 3 river ambulances have also been deployed.

There is also a claim about security

The administration claims that divers have been deployed along with the sailors. 70 teams of country boats, sailors, divers have been prepared to deal with the contingency of the disaster. 289 boats, 289 sailors and 324 divers are on duty in 23 blocks. 08 teams of NDRF and 05 teams of SDRF have been deployed. 4 swimmers in the control room, 28 divers have been deputed at 7 places with all the resources like thorn net, net and rope to deal with the emergency of disaster near the ponds of Patna urban areas.

124 Civil Defense volunteers have also been deputed at selected ghats. With this, all SDOs have been directed to keep divers, nets and swimmers safe. In the control room, 55 safe magistrates have been deputed in four shifts. Main control room has been set up at JP Gangapath Digha Rotary and Law College Ghat, where 11 office bearers have been deputed.

    safety in emergency

37 magistrates have been deputed in Patna Sadar Subdivision Assistant Control Room, 16 magistrates have been deputed in Patna City Control Room. 6 patrol teams have been deputed for patrolling in Patna City area. Control room numbers 0612-2219810/2219234/9431800675) and Patna City sub-divisional control room’s 0612-2631813) and 112 numbers are being claimed to be active for 24 hours for emergency services. But give it up. Prompt action will be taken from the district level. Ambulance civil surgeons will be deputed for emergency along with doctors, para medical staff and essential life saving medicines.

It was informed by the Civil Surgeon that 38 ambulances would be deployed with necessary resources. Arrangements have been made for Chhathvratis in more than 45 ponds and an equal number of parks in Patna. Apart from the claims of the administration, a large number of people are also doing Chhath on the terrace of the apartment. The administration claims that Gangajal is being made available for devotees and Chhathvratis in homes and colonies through tankers. A total of 22 tankers of the Municipal Corporation have been deployed from Digha Patipul to deliver holy Ganga water.
