Moradabad cyber cell arrested two cyber criminals
Two people, including a mastermind who made a retired police officer of Uttar Pradesh a victim of cyber fraud while sitting in Jamui, have been arrested. Regarding this matter, the Moradabad police had reached Jamui on late Sunday evening. During this, the police arrested a person named Ranjan Kumar, father Mahadev Das, by raiding in Akatand village of Jhajha police station area of the district. After matching his bank accounts, it was found that the money transferred from Meghraj Singh’s account was transferred to Ranjan’s account only. After this Ranjan was arrested and interrogated. At the behest of Ranjan, the police also raided Daulatpur village of Sadar police station area late night and arrested the mastermind of the case, Ajay Kumar Mandal, father Saudagar Mandal. Accepting his involvement in the case, Ajay has also named many of his other accomplices. On Monday afternoon, with the help of Moradabad police town station, they took both of them along with them and left for Uttar Pradesh.

Giving information about the case, Inspector Rakesh Kumar of Moradabad Cyber Cell said that retired policeman Meghraj Singh, a resident of Ganganagar Gajraula, UP, was called by Ajay Kumar posing as a bank employee and got the State Bank app downloaded on his mobile. After that, the Aadhaar number and the OTP received in the mobile were also shared with Ajay. On telling the OTP, Ajay Kumar Mandal deposited eight lakh rupees on the account of his colleague Ranjan Kumar and two lakh rupees on the account of Vishal Kumar, a resident of Mangarar village of Laxmipur police station area.
