Liquor mafia attacked the Patna Excise Department and Sarairanjan police team, which reached to raid near Jhakhra village of Sarai Ranjan police station area of Samastipur on Thursday night on information about offloading of liquor in huge quantities. During this, the miscreants also fired on the police team. In response, the police team also fired several rounds.
Later, two of the fleeing miscreants were caught by the villagers near Chak Sikandar of Tajpur police station area. Which was later handed over to the police. During this, the police seized four vehicles along with about 152 cartons of foreign liquor from Jhakhra Chaur. SP Hriday Kant told that there was a scuffle with the police team, although he did not confirm the firing. He has said that Sadar DSP has been sent on the spot for investigation.
In relation to the incident, it has been told that late night the police team had received information that foreign liquor was being unloaded from containers and several vehicles near Jhakhra village located at Sarairanjan College of Sarairanjan police station area. Which is being sent to different areas of the district on small vehicles, on the information of this, the police of Patna’s excise department and Sarairanjan police station had reached the spot.
Meanwhile, seeing the police, the miscreants started firing. When the police team tried to catch the running miscreants, they also had a scuffle with the police. Later, after chasing the fleeing miscreants, the police team caught two miscreants near Chaksikander, about 10 km away. SP Hriday Kant told that the whole matter is being investigated, a huge amount of liquor and vehicles have been seized. He said that there was a scuffle with the police team, although he did not confirm the firing by the police.
