A case has been registered against five named and one unknown on the alleged statement of the victim Lal Bahadur Singh in the case of assault and firing on Monday near Housing Board Mushari, located in LIC Colony, in a land dispute. The named accused include Gopalpur JDU MLA Gopal Mandal, his son Ashish Mandal, Dhananjay Yadav, Sanjeev Singh and Dilip Mandal. A case has also been registered against the staff of Big Daddy’s restaurant owned by MLA Gopal Mandal’s son Ashish Mandal.
In the application given to the police, Lal Bahadur Singh has said that the incident took place on the instructions of MLA Gopal Mandal. Dilip Mandal and Dhananjay Yadav fired from the gun. Other accused attacked me and my family members with sticks and rods. Apart from this, the police has also imposed section 120 on the charge of erasing evidence. City SP Swarna Prabhat said that the plaintiff side has nominated five people in the case of firing in the land dispute.
MLA Gopal Mandal is also included in these. The police is probing the incident at every point. Raids are being conducted to arrest both the accused who fired. On the question of Lal Bahadur seeking security, he said that if such a demand is made on behalf of the victim, the police will provide him security.
