Severe erosion is taking place in the main stream of Ganga in Chamtha Diyara. The swaying crops of the farmers are being drowned in the water of the river Ganga. Due to erosion, clouds of crisis have started hovering over Chamtha number village as well. But till now the attention of the administration has not gone towards this erosion. Prabhakar Kumar Rai, Member of Parliament of Bachwada Vidhansabha, took stock of the said erosion with the farmers.

The crop sown in the strong current of the Ganges from Chamtha Rajauli to Chiraiyatok Pachkhutti in Bachwara block area has been submerged in the Ganges due to erosion. At the same time, erosion is also taking place in Ratulhapur Diyara. By changing its course, the Ganges is eroding rapidly towards the north. Erosion is taking place in an 8 KM long radius, due to which within two months the erosion has increased one kilometer towards the north.

Farmers’ crops of wheat, sweet potato, parbal are getting mixed in the Ganga, due to which there is hue and cry among the farmers. MP representative Prabhakar Kumar Rai told that the crop is going into the stomach of Ganga. In one to two days, the land planted with the entire crop of the farmer is getting absorbed in the flow of the Ganges. If the anti-erosion work is not started soon, then the danger of erosion on Chamtha number village cannot be ruled out. MP cum Union Minister Giriraj Singh has also been informed about this.
