The Excise Department in Siwan, after taking action from various police station areas, destroyed the seized foreign liquor at 2:00 pm on Saturday afternoon by running a bulldozer at the city’s police line field ground. The value of the seized liquor is said to be Rs 35 lakh. Siwan Sadar Zonal Officer Gyan Prakash Srivastava, deputed as Magistrate, was present on the spot in this entire process. In this case, Zonal Officer Gyan Prakash Srivastava told that foreign liquor seized in various police station areas across the district with the help of police force was destroyed after collecting at one place.
Under a special campaign, on the instructions of District Magistrate Amit Kumar Pandey, bulldozers have been run by bringing all the liquor to the police line. He told that the district administration is committed to make the prohibition law fully effective in Siwan. Action is being taken after immediately arresting liquor traders and those accused of drinking.
Most liquor caught in the month of October and November
It is worth mentioning that while taking action from 18 police stations of Siwan district, the maximum number of liquor has been seized in the months of October and November. This time, with the help of excise department and local administration, 7406.960 liters of illicit country liquor has been seized. Please inform that the district administration has taken this action from Siwan Sadar subdivision and Maharajganj subdivision area. At 2:00 pm on Saturday, under the supervision of the Magistrate, all the liquor was destroyed by running a bulldozer, along with all the empty liquor bottles were buried in a pit. Due to the continuous police action on the liquor traders in the district, there has been a stir among the liquor smugglers.
