Guwahati: On Sunday morning, there was a sudden engine failure of an Indigo flight going from Guwahati to Dibrugarh in Assam. The flight had just taken off from Guwahati airport that the pilot of the aircraft detected an engine fault, after which it landed back at Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport within a few minutes. More than 150 passengers including Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameshwar Teli and two BJP MLAs Prashant Phukan and Terash Gowala were traveling in the same aircraft.

Flight number 6E2652 took off from Guwahati at around 8.40 am and returned to the airport within around 20 minutes. Technical fault is said to be the reason for the return of the aircraft. Immediately after landing in Guwahati, all the passengers of the aircraft were de-boarded and the aircraft was sent for inspection. However, there has been no response from Indigo in this matter so far.
Flight in the air for 15-20 minutes
At the same time, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameshwar Teli said that he and BJP MLAs Prashant Phukan and Terash Gowala were on the Indigo flight. The flight remained in the air for 15 to 20 minutes before being diverted to Dibrugarh airport in Guwahati. After which the pilot of the aircraft told about the fault in the engine of the aircraft and the pilot landed it back at the airport safely.
