Expansion
Elon Musk’s satellite internet company Starlink is now going to tighten the noose on its users. According to media reports, as per Starlink’s new policy, users who consume more than one TB of data in a month between 7 am and 11 pm, their internet will be slowed down.
It further states that if customers want to get faster speeds before the start of the next billing cycle, they can pay USD 0.25 per GB of data. According to The Verge, less than 10 percent of existing Starlink customers use more than 1TB each month.
Talking about internet usage for common people, it is not hard to imagine using more than one TB of data in a month. Gamers, especially, those games that face difficulties while downloading and playing online can consume up to 100GB or more of data on a regular basis.
